Salary: £26,041.60 (unqualified) rising to £26,561.60 for candidates with a Level 3 qualification and 2+ years experience
Our client is seeking a Residential Therapeutic Parent to join their childrens home in Newcastle. Youll support children aged 1118 who may have experienced trauma or emotional/behavioural difficulties, helping them gain stability, confidence, and independence. Life experience and transferable skills are encouraged no prior residential care experience is required.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Understanding of child development and therapeutic parenting
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare
- Team player with empathy and ability to manage challenging behaviours
- Willingness to work flexible shifts (day, evening, night)
- Full UK driving licence(required fortransporting young people to appointments/school and contact)
- The right to Work in the UK
Desirable
- Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young Peoples Workforce (or equivalent)
- 2+ years experience working in childrens residential care
- Willingness to work towards Level 3 qualification if not already qualified (funding and incentives available)
The role
- Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
- Provide a safe, nurturing and structured environment for children and young people
- Build positive relationships and act as a therapeutic parent and role model
- Support young people in developing life skills, confidence and independence
- Encourage young people to express their views and participate in decisions about their lives
- Support participation in education, hobbies, activities and community opportunities
- Transport young people to education, appointments and family contact
- Maintain accurate records, reports and care documentation
- Work as part of a team to maintain high standards of care in line with safeguarding and Ofsted expectations
