Community and Events Fundraising Volunteer – Teesside Hospice

Department: Fundraising

Location: 410 Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough / Off-site venues

Time Requirement: Flexible to suit you (2–5 days per week)

DBS Check needed? No

Age Requirements: 18 years old plus

Note: You must have access to your own transport and provide the

appropriate driver documentation.

Role Description: Support the Community and Event Fundraising team with

planning, preparation, and delivery of fundraising activities, campaigns, and events. You

will work alongside professional fundraisers to raise funds for Teesside Hospice,

contributing to services that help local people with terminal illness live as well as

possible. Activities may include Christmas campaigns (Light up a Life, Rudolph Run),

coordinating collection tins, bucket collections, Midnight Walk, Balls, and other

community events.

Key Responsibilities

Provide voluntary help to assist with fundraising activities or events.

Research potential support and promote campaigns and events as appropriate.

Assist with promotional opportunities and planning/preparation.

Recruit event participants and support stewardship of fundraisers.

Support the work of Community and Events Fundraisers.

Follow Teesside Hospice policies and procedures.

Attend meetings and training programmes as required.

Communicate when unable to attend a shift.

Assist with event set-ups, supervision, and clear downs.

Distribute marketing materials and provide information to the public.

Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff.

Complete documentation relating to the role.

Training Requirements

Teesside Hospice mandatory training, including cash handling and data protection

Volunteer induction training

Other training as appropriate to the role

Support and Supervision

Your first line of support will be your manager, a member of the Community and Events

Fundraising team. You will join a professional fundraising and marketing department and

have the opportunity to learn and develop skills, gaining work experience in professional

fundraising and communications.

Communications

The Community and Events Fundraisers will regularly provide information updates, training

opportunities, and upcoming events relevant to your role. You will be provided with a

Teesside Hospice volunteer ID badge.
