Organisations entering into on-line credit or other payment card transactions (e.g. placing advertisements on the Sector1 website), will be provided with secure server access. The secure server software encrypts the information that you input before it is transmitted to us. To prevent unauthorised access, we follow legally required security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information that you have given to us. This means that sometimes we may ask for proof of identity before we disclose personal information to you.

For the purpose of Data Protection you acknowledge that in the course of you advertising on our website, certain data about your organisation or employees supplied for the purpose of the advertisement and advertising transaction may be captured electronically or otherwise by us. Information that you upload to the site is used to enable us to send you details of job vacancies which may be of interest to you.   If you opt in to receiving additional information from Sector1 then it may include sending you newsletters, details of offers or alerts about other products or services that we think may be of interest to you.   We may communicate with you via email and mobile push notifications. We may use your information to answer your enquiries or otherwise communicate with you.

We do not share your personal data with third parties.  From time to time we may run competitions or undertake surveys and in doing so we may request that you provide certain information such as your contact details. This is on a voluntary basis and you may choose not to participate and not to provide the information.

We reserve the right to disclose your personal information to comply with applicable laws and government or regulatory bodies' lawful requests for information.

In the event of a merger, sale or transfer of the Sector1 business assets we may transfer or assign the information to the new owner.  

Sector1 Registration

If you choose to register with Sector1 it will make your job application process easier as you will benefit from many of the additional features and functions available on the site.   The information you provide as part of the registration process will be used solely for this purpose.   It can be used to prepopulate any job applications you wish to submit and enable you to save applications and return to them at a later stage.   Registrations which are inactive for 24 months will be automatically deleted from the system along with any CVs or applications you have stored.

Job Applications

Information you supply as part of a job application will be sent electronically to the employer or accessed by them when they log in to a secure area of the site.   All information you upload to Sector1 is secured using secure socket layering and fully encrypted.    Your application will be available to you for a period of 24 months after which time it will be deleted from the system.

Employers are responsible for the way they handle any data you provide as part of your application.  Sector1 cannot accept responsibility for the handling of your information once it has been supplied to the employer.

Employers have their own policies in place regarding the handling and use of your application information.  

Electronic application data will be removed from the Sector database after 24 months and will no longer be available to the you or the employer via the secure login areas.

Sector1 Reporting and User Statistics

Sector1 uses Cookies to help give you a better user experience by recording IP addresses etc.   We use cookies to help us track user behaviour on the site and report of site traffic, job views and other statistical information.  This information does not identify users or include any personal information.

When someone visits we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about this. We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.
