Job Description

This is the ideal opportunity for a suitably qualified and talented individual who may be looking for a change or wants to develop their legal career within a forward thinking, adaptable and dynamic Local Authority.  We need to enhance our existing Legal Team with an experienced and motivated professional, who will share our values and ambitions.  We offer a package which includes a generous pension scheme, excellent work life balance and great annual leave (which is largely unrivalled in the private sector).

The role will predominately work on children matters, therefore relevant experience of this is vital.  Knowledge of adult social care would be beneficial, but it is not essential.  You will be a professional advocate with exceptional interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate for successful results you will also be offered the opportunity for further career expansion by widening your knowledge and experience across other legal activities within our service.

The role can be challenging and rewarding as we strive for better outcomes for Middlesbrough’s residents, particularly children.  You can expect to be fully supported by our passionate team and be given the opportunity to widen your knowledge and experience across the range of our legal activities.

If you are a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Exec with experience of complex children’s welfare matters and are thinking of making the switch from private to local government practise (or you just want to know more about the job and how great it is to work at Middlesbrough) then please get in touch with Ann-Marie Wilson for a chat on 01642 729760 or drop an email to annmarie_wilson@middlesbrough.gov.uk.

This is a CV based application and the vacancy will close once the ideal candidate has been found, therefore do not delay submitting your CV if you are interested.
