Children's Safeguarding Officer

  • ? Full Time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • ? £28,690.00 per annum, plus a car allowance

We’ve built Bernicia as a business people want to be part of with confident, proud and passionate people the driving force of our success. We deliver what we say we will, something that our customers and partners can rely on; which is all part of the engaging, exciting and infectious ‘Bernicia Way’ of doing business.
This post offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced safeguarding professional to join our Care and Support team and make a real difference.

Do you have a sound working knowledge of safeguarding legislation and practice?  Do you have the ability to relate to people, often in difficult situations?  Do you have experience of dealing with complex safeguarding cases?

We’re looking for an exceptional talent to manage safeguarding cases and work collaboratively with our partners to ensure the safety of our customers. You’ll continuously work to maintain, embed and improve Bernicia’s safeguarding approach, ensuring the highest standards of support for safeguarding vulnerable people.

We never get complacent at Bernicia, so you’ll seek out opportunities to continuously improve services to meet challenging targets and obtain best value for customers; working in partnership with stakeholders, external partners and colleagues.

We really only want motivated people who are ready to get stuck in and make a positive difference.  So if you have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help our customers we’d love to hear from you.
And if we’re right for each other, alongside a competitive salary, generous pension and holiday entitlement, we offer a rewards and benefits scheme that can make your money go further with great discounts and savings on every day and luxury items.
There’s also a host of other reasons to work here, including our progressive attitude to learning and innovation and a commitment for people to develop with us, in a comfortable and welcoming working environment that supports everyone to flourish.

If you’d like to find out a bit more about this role and maybe Bernicia in general,  please call Mel Baynes on 0191 238 3844, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

As this role involves mobile working, you must hold a full current driving licence and have access to a car for business use.

The post is also subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.
