Contact centres vary a great deal and represent many different sectors from financial institutions, media, services, telephony, IT, Leisure, Energy etc. Some are very large employers with thousands of staff whilst others are much smaller and may only consist of a few people. There are a range of contact centres across the North East and often they are grouped together in clusters on business parks and industrial estates. Sunderland, North Tyneside, Newcastle, Gateshead and Teesside all have an abundance of call centre jobs
The grea thing about Call Centres is you often don't need any skills or particular experience to find a job. Most contact centres have their own in-house training programmes and will teach you everything you need to know to do the job. Many contact centres also run 24 hour services so you can often find that they offer flexible hours to suit your own particular lifestyle with the ideal shift and hours to suit you. This makes this type of work a great option for part time workers, students, semi-retired or parents looking to work around family comittments.
This particular sector has suffered from bad press in the past but our advice is to check the sector out for yourself. It can be a really exciting and rewarding job where people can earn unlimited bonus and develop real career prospects.
