A high-growth, Newcastle-based technology organisation created through a joint venture between global consulting and investment leaders is looking to hire a Technical Lead. This Technical Leadrole sits at the intersection of hands-on engineering and people leadership. Youll work closely with developers, stakeholders and end users to design and deliver high-quality software solutions at pace, while helping to shape culture, standards and ways of working from an early stage.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a small team of software engineers, providing technical guidance and support

• Remain hands-on with development and take ownership of end-to-end delivery

• Engage directly with users and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver pragmatic solutions

• Collaborate closely with client teams to deliver shared outcomes

• Challenge existing systems and processes through innovation and technical excellence

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends

What theyre looking for:

• Strong programming experience in C#/.NET, Java, Rust or Python

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

• A problem-solver with energy, ambition and an ownership mentality

• Experience delivering software projects from start to finish

• Interest in understanding business problems and building domain knowledge

• Financial Services experience is beneficial but not essential

• A minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
