Volunteers

"My name is Linda and I have been volunteering with the 700 Club since Nov 2014. I am retired and found that I still needed to feel useful in the community so I decided volunteering for a charitable organisation would benefit both me and the charity. When I started, I worked with Bridge2Home, which works with individuals who are at risk of becoming homeless and enables them to secure private rental accommodation. I accompanied project workers to visit properties to ensure that living standards were being maintained for both the tenant and landlord. I found this to be both very interesting and rewarding work. I now work with the Floating Support Team, helping to support individuals in their own homes suffering with substance misuse issues.

I would recommend volunteering for the 700 Club to anyone who wants to feel they are making a difference. It has given me a huge insight into the lives of many people who are not as fortunate as others. It has made me realize how essential it is that there are services available to offer the help and guidance needed by so many."

We have opportunities for volunteering across all our projects, whether your skills are with people, with administration, or whether you have some other skill you would like to share ... music, drama, art, etc. It is the policy of the organisation to ask everyone who wishes to volunteer to fill in an application form.
