Volunteers help us to provide essential services in Middlesbrough, Stockton, Gateshead and Sunderland, with roughly 7,000 hours of voluntary time accrued each year within our organisation.
The people who join us come from a variety of different backgrounds, cultures and communities, including those in recovery and with lived experience themselves.
If you believe that you align with our core values, and want to make a difference to people in your community, contact us via the email address below. You can also view our Investing in Volunteering accreditation, 20-23, here.
For those in early abstinence-based recovery, we also have an accredited Level 2 OCN qualification that creates ambassadors out of many volunteers who come through our doors.
This gives you the opportunity to provide Lived Experience support to people who can learn and grow from your example. All volunteers and ambassadors are fully supported by our community teams and volunteer coordinator.
If now feels like the right time to take that step, and venture out into the community in voluntary role, we’re here to help.
There are always plenty of roles and opportunities going across the charity. From helping out at our social enterprises, to supporting a group.
You don’t need any experience to get started. And if you’re hoping to build on the experience you already have – or share your experience with others, we’d love to hear from you.
For people in Middlesbrough who are unemployed, another opportunity that may appeal to you is the Fork Academy; a unique training programme that prepares you for all you need to gain paid employment in hospitality.
You can download more information about the Academy and other volunteering opportunities here.
