Job Description

We're recruiting a Team Manager to support our team of Peer Support Workers within our recovery based services across the Tees Valley. 

We’re looking for someone who’s driven to make a real difference within the local community through the delivery of services, with our charitable purpose at the centre of everything. 

Overview

You will lead a team of Peer Support Workers to inspire hope and belief in others that personal recovery from mental health problems is achievable.

Experience Required

  • Hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification, or have ability to work with information at this level and equivalent experience of providing peer support
  • Hold Level 3 Teaching Qualification e.g. PTLLS or equivalent or willing to work towards this
  • Management or leadership training/qualification or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of mental health problems and mental health services of the Voluntary Sector and how it works with other Statutory and Non-statutory Services
  • Knowledge of CHIME model of care (desirable)
  • Safeguarding and safety planning practices

Responsibilties & Qualifications

  • Support and line manage Peer Support Workers within the team including monthly supervision, staff development, caseload monitoring and performance management
  • Support staff to maintain their wellbeing and resilience
  • Facilitate reflective practice sessions focussed on the peer support model
  • Set the agenda and facilitate regular team meetings
  • Lead on service improvements and work alongside the service manager in developing new Peer Support initiatives 
  • Develop effective relationships with managers and staff within TEWV NHS Trust community teams to ensure joint working across the whole Peer Support team
