We are looking for a forward-thinking individual who is a knowledgeable and experienced manager. We are a small non-profit Independent Fostering Agency and we would like candidates to have experience in developing fostering services.
You will work in partnership with the Registered Manager in the decisions and management of the agency ensuring the service is safe, well run and complies with Regulations.
As Responsible Individual you will register with, and represent the organisation to, Ofsted.
You are required to have good knowledge and experience of regulations and good practice relating to Cared For children.
You will be required to monitor, conduct internal audits and quality checks of policies and procedures and service regulations. Identify recommendations and areas for improvement adding to organisational action planning.

The role is within the North East. Our offices are based in Durham.
The role is part time. Hours of work are flexible and negotiable in line with the needs of the agency.
Job Overview:
The Responsible Individual is accountable for ensuring legislation is implemented and has responsibilities in relation to managers, staff, children, and foster carers. The Responsible Individual is accountable for ensuring the effectiveness of the Registered Manager.
Requirements of this Responsible Individual role:
- A Social Work Qualification or equivalent plus SWE registration.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration with Ofsted.
- Level 4*/5 – Leadership and Management Qualification.
- At least 2 years fostering experience within the last 5 years.
- A minimum of 1 years experience of supervising and managing professional staff.
- Successful experience in managing child protection and safeguarding, supporting resilience, managing risk, maximising care and welfare, health and safety issues.
- Experience of working with Ofsted/ Inspection framework.
- Experience of monitoring and quality assurance of a service provision to achieve compliance.

Pay: £25.00-£45.00 per hour
