Job Description

Are you passionate about shaping the future of young people? Do you thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment where innovation meets purpose? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

About Us: At Youth Focus North East, we’re on a mission to empower the next generation through education, research, and community-driven initiatives. We believe that young people have the potential to be powerful agents of change, and we’re dedicated to providing them with the skills, knowledge, and support to thrive.

The Role: As the Research Programme Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving youth-focused research initiatives across the region. You will lead the coordination of impactful research activities, projects, and programmes in partnership with colleagues, youth organisations, and the private sector. Your primary focus will be on upskilling young people through peer-led research, giving them the tools they need to generate meaningful insights within their communities and influence positive change. You will foster a culture of collaboration and shared learning, empowering young people to conduct participatory, peer-driven research that builds resilience and drives innovation. By working closely with stakeholders, you’ll ensure that all programmes are delivered efficiently, making a lasting impact on both the youth and the communities they serve.

Key Responsibilities: • Lead the strategic coordination of youth research activities and programmes across the region. • Upskill young people through peer research initiatives, equipping them with essential skills for their personal and professional growth. • Foster strong collaborations with stakeholders in both the youth and private sectors to ensure impactful programme delivery. • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, confidently reporting on progress through written reports and face-to-face meetings. • Oversee the efficient and effective delivery of all research activities, ensuring targets are met and projects run smoothly.

What We’re Looking For: • A proactive, organised, and practical leader who can manage multiple projects with ease. • Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and can inspire young people to achieve their potential. • A strong communicator with the confidence to report progress to various stakeholders. • Experience in youth work, research, or programme management would be a significant advantage.

Why Join Us? This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in young people’s lives, helping them "learn to earn" and "learn to work" while developing critical research skills. You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of Youth Focus North East’s programmes and empowering the next generation to thrive in an ever-evolving world. If you’re ready to inspire, lead, and create lasting change, we want to hear from you! Apply today and be a part of something extraordinary.
