About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Recruitment and Engagement Officer to design, develop, and deliver outstanding interventions in schools, our colleges (Sunderland College, Northumberland College and Hartlepool Sixth Form), and the community. This role is crucial in driving awareness of our colleges and building strong relationships with feeder schools and community groups. If you are enthusiastic about education, can confidently present to prospective students of all ages, have a knack for creating impactful promotional experiences and you are super organised, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver exceptional promotional experiences with schools, working with students and staff.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with schools including students and staff, parents/carers and internal stakeholders.
  • Measure and improve the effectiveness of engagement activities.
  • Plan and execute an innovative calendar of events to drive recruitment targets using initiative and insight to make improvements
  • Maximise student numbers and enhance the college’s reputation through exceptional event experiences.
  • Support the Recruitment & Engagement Team Leader in developing interactive activities that excite and engage potential students.
  • Deliver communications that support events, including promotion and follow-up.
  • Work with curriculum teams to create innovative recruitment events.
  • Champion the college’s brand message and manage its external implementation.
  • Confidently present to stakeholders internally, externally and with students and parents/carers of all ages, tailoring approach accordingly.

Please note, there will be an expectation of regular travel across the North East region as part of the role.

Events Management:

  • Deliver high-quality event experiences for the college group and external partners.
  • Support Open Event activities and other conversion activities with new and innovative experiences.
  • Assist in the delivery of corporate events and commercial hire clients.
  • Plan and execute an annual calendar of student engagement activities, including taster events, open events, masterclasses, and workshops.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure integrated and consistent recruitment and events activities.

Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on the quality and effectiveness of engagement activities.
  • Gather feedback and analyse data to improve performance.
  • Deliver on performance indicators, including application generation and conversion.

Data Capture:

  • Maximise data collection across all recruitment activities.
  • Use CRM systems to store and analyse data for follow-up communications and reporting.

Social Media:

  • Pro-actively use social media channels to showcase engagements and promote recruitment activities.

Financial Management:

  • Follow financial policies and procedures.

Integrated Planning:

  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Engagement Department to integrate recruitment activities within the wider campaign strategy.

Project Management:

  • Support cross-department projects relevant to the role.

Sales Support Materials:

  • Develop engaging presentations and sales support materials for schools and community groups.
  • Update School Liaison web pages to showcase offers and interventions.

Generic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively as part of a team and develop a collaborative approach.
  • Innovate with a solution-driven attitude and respond positively to feedback.
  • Be organised, responsible, and flexible in your approach to work.
  • Represent Marketing & Engagement positively across EPNE and to external stakeholders.
  • Deputise for the Manager where appropriate.
  • Continuously develop specialist knowledge and upskill colleagues through training.
