As part of your role you will be required to undertake legal work relating primarily to Planning and Property including dealing with complex planning agreements and property transactions. You will support the Council’s Planning Committee as well as working within the Council’s legal team to support our wider business objectives.

You must therefore have experience of working in Planning Law and/or Property Law/Conveyancing with the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, client officers and Council members.

 We want to hear from you if you can offer

·        A qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister with a current Practising Certificate.

·        Experience of working in Planning Law and/ or Property Law/ Conveyancing

·        Experience of drafting contracts and agreements

·        Minimum degree qualification.

·        A full current Driving Licence.

·        Good interpersonal and negotiation skills

The benefits include flexitime, 24 days annual leave rising to 29 days after 5 years’ service, in addition to bank holidays and an extra day over the Christmas period and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
