About the role

Are you passionate about supporting students to reach their full potential and achieve their academic and personal goals? We are looking for a dedicated Personal Development Tutor to join our dynamic and supportive team at Northumberland College. 

The ideal candidate will be an engaging and empathetic professional who is committed to student success. You will have experience working with young people in an educational setting, with the ability to monitor and support student progress across academic, technical, and personal development areas.

Working with the students, in providing individual tutorials, managing attendance and academic progress, and guiding students through key milestones such as work experience, and career planning. Your proactive approach to tracking progress and implementing interventions will help students achieve their targets and enhance their employability.

You will be dedicated to helping students build confidence, self-esteem, and a growth mindset. Your ability to foster strong relationships and provide tailored guidance will ensure each student can reach their full potential. With experience using learner progress tracking systems and setting clear, measurable goals, you will efficiently manage caseloads and maintain accurate records. You’ll be adept at identifying when interventions are needed to keep students on track.

You will be able to communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, staff, and external agencies. Your interpersonal skills will allow you to provide constructive feedback and work collaboratively with others to support students’ development.

About the College 

Northumberland College is the only college in the county serving, the communities of Northumberland, offering a diverse curriculum offer from Entry level to Level 6, discrete SEND provision and Apprenticeships.
