Lift Test Engineer

Responsible for:

Working in conjunction with the Regional Project Managers and Head of Lift Product Operations, to undertake the testing of new lifts and modernisations in line with all relevant legislation and regulations.

Provide technical support to direct and sub-contract installation teams where required and to assist in the Project Managers with the completion of projects to a high standard and ensure that they are compliant with Health & Safety Legislation and the Company’s process and procedures.

Main duties:

• Testing of new lifts and modernisations to relevant standards and procedures
• Completion and issuing of relevant test documentation and other quality documentation in line with Pickerings Quality Procedures
• Fault finding and support with the rectification of defects where required
• Pro-active customer engagement (internal & external) throughout the test procedure
• Supporting the Project Managers where required and sub-contract installation teams in order to improve the general standard of the lift installation where applicable

Person specification:

• Previous test engineer experience
• Previous lift installation or Project Management experience (preferable)
• NVQ L4 qualified or working towards
• Good IT Skills
• Good fault finding skills
• Pro-active customer management approach
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work autonomously and as part as a team

In addition to the above, the post-holder will also be required to undertake additional duties as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.
