Lecturer in Motor Vehicle

Job Introduction

East Durham College is seeking a passionate and experienced Lecturer in Motor Vehicle to join our team at the Technical Skills Academy. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across Levels 1, 2, and 3 Motor Vehicle programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging theory and practical sessions aligned with industry standards.
• Prepare and assess teaching materials and assignments.
• Support learners academically and pastorally.
• Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance.
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle or related discipline.
• GCSE-level education in Maths and English.
• Assessor Award (or willingness to work towards teaching qualifications).
• Experience teaching a range of learners, including 14–19+ age group.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and ability to manage workload effectively.

Desirable:

• Teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE/DTLLS).
• IV Award.
• Experience working with students with SEN.
