THE ROLE:
Team Fostering is looking to recruit foster carers across the North East. Whether it’s something completely new to you, you have prior experience of working with children, or are a parent with children who are older or have recently left home, we’d be happy to talk to you about fostering.
As a foster carer you’ll provide care and support to children and young people ranging from 0 to 18 years old, although this will generally be for older children.
Fostering isn’t easy, but many of our foster carers say it’s the most rewarding thing they’ve ever done. You’ll be provided with regular training, ongoing support and a comprehensive package of fees and benefits.
THE CANDIDATE:
There’s no ‘one size fits all’ to fostering so we encourage interest from people from all walks of life. All of our carers have very different backgrounds and life experiences, and we welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, or marital situation.
Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults or parenting experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
We do ask that our foster carers:
- Are over 21 years of age
- Have a spare bedroom in their home
- Can drive or have someone in the caring household who can drive, with access to a car. (We do welcome enquiries from those who are currently learning to drive)
- Are available to care for a child or young person 24/7 – we will however consider applications from those self-employed or employed part time
- If in a relationship have been together for a minimum of 2 years
