Job Description

Would you like to join our team to support the expansion of our Creative Health work?

This is an excellent opportunity to lead the strategic development of our Creative Health programme, as well as work with colleagues to deliver a range of participatory arts projects as part of our Creative Health funded work, and build our social prescribing offer in North Tyneside. Our Creative Health work is a key aspect of our Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation programme delivery. Better Connect is its core project.

The Creative Health Manager will be highly experienced, highly motivated, and capable of managing the delivery of a Creative Health (Social Prescribing) programme in North Tyneside and overseeing its administration and referral processes.

The principal aims of our programme ‘Better Connect’ are to improve health and emotional resilience amongst identified individuals within the communities of the North Tyneside area, reducing reliance on clinical forms of treatment using the arts to help improve confidence and self-esteem, learn new skills and increase social interaction.

The Creative Health Manager will be a critical advocate and strategic thinker with a proven ability to develop and nurture strategic and delivery partnerships capable of amplifying our Creative Health work. The successful candidate will collaborate with our community partners and residents to ensure a dedicated participatory arts and health offer is delivered across the borough.

The Creative Health Manager will be someone who can oversee planning and coordination to deliver social prescribing programmes with VCSE partners in North Tyneside.

We are interested in a person’s values and lived experiences, something which aligns closely to our work, the company ethos, and Helix Arts’ team culture. It is important that our workforce represents the diverse communities we collaborate with. If you feel less represented and want to make that change, then we are very keen to hear from you!

This post is required to travel across the North Tyneside and the North East, with occasional national travel, as part of your job, using your own vehicle or public transport. Other forms of travel are in line with the expenses policy. This requirement will vary with the needs of the job.
