Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our vibrant and progressive Conservation team. As part of your role, you will support the team in the research and writing of guidance and conservation area appraisals and management plans. This will be a great opportunity for you to develop knowledge and experience on matters relating to providing advice on listed buildings, conservation areas and other heritage assets.

You must therefore:

  • Be working towards or have a recognised qualification in conservation, town planning or related discipline with general development management function. This does not preclude those without a degree as the Council will be willing to support those with significant relevant experience (e.g. a Planning Technician or similar) should the individual wish to progress further in the discipline.
  • Have an interest in practical conservation techniques and architectural history.
  • Be self-motivated, with excellent communication skills and a clear enthusiasm for built heritage.
