Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join our Policy and Performance team as a Policy Officer. The team delivers services to support the wider business and customers in the areas of performance, complaints, internal and external policy, research, equalities and scrutiny.

The main features of the role are:

  • Coordinating the policy review process
  • Working with managers across all departments to develop, review, implement and monitor policies and procedures
  • Carrying out research and preparing reports, briefings and presentations for the Group Chief Executive
  • Interpreting and responding to national policy changes and supporting our policy influencing work
  • Contributing to assurance work around compliance with the regulatory standards for housing providers
  • Working with staff and customers to deliver the objectives of our ‘Make it Happen' Equality Strategy
  • Carrying out research and analysis on the impact of policies and services on different groups including consultation with customers

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in a housing policy or public policy environment
  • Has a demonstrable commitment to addressing social injustice
  • Has excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and customers and act as an ambassador for the organisation with a range of external stakeholders
  • Is highly literate and able to write reports and presentations in a range of styles using Microsoft office
  • Has experience of independent research and report writing
  • Is able to assimilate, interpret and summarise complex information
  • Has a commitment to equality and diversity and involving customers and stakeholders in the work we do
  • Takes ownership of their own workload and shows a self-disciplined, problem solving approach
  • Can evidence experience of managing a deadline driven workload particularly in a coordinating role where multiple people are involved

This role is to cover for the secondment of the post holder and is for a period of 12 months.
