About the service

Scunthorpe Housing Management Service is an accommodation service built in 2014 for single homeless people in Scunthorpe and surrounding areas. The Crosby Mews accommodation consists of 16/bungalows self-contained flats with 2 further satellite properties accommodating 8 people nearby.

About the role

As a Housing Management Worker you will visit / inspect our properties on a daily basis, carrying out regular defects, maintenance and health and safety checks. Your role will be to ensure the service achieves maximum occupancy through effective void and maintenance management, referral assessment of clients and enforcing tenancy conditions. The role will include rent and service charge collection to ensure that all housing management income is collected effectively and processed through appropriate systems in a timely manner.

You will be expected to work as a member of a local and area team to provide an effective Housing Management service to clients of Stonham Home Group and 3rd party care and support services.

You will need to have an interest in working with the clients and be actively involved in taking forward their service so that it provides high level of quality to people living there.

Who we're looking for

You will have the ability to liaise with other colleagues and internal and external partners. To work flexibly and also have good written and verbal communication skills

You should be client focussed, have good organisational and people skills, a flexible approach and be able to demonstrate the ability to adapt to situations. Experience of working in a residential/supported housing environment is essential. You will need to be confident in using computers and programmes like Word, Outlook and Excel.

You will be able to use your own initiative; you will be skilled at managing your own time and workload efficiently and will be confident working alone or alongside your colleagues. With strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication, you will be a clear and confident communicator. Alongside a passion for helping vulnerable people make positive and lasting change, you will demonstrate a practical understanding of professional boundaries, safeguarding, risk assessment and confidentiality.

Please note there is an expectation that you travel to locations in Teesside and the Ridings to attend occasional meetings and training.

Any offer of employment will be subject to a DBS disclosure, costs of which will be met by Home Group.
