Hexham/Bellingham 17.5 hours per week

Morpeth (2 posts) 15 hours per week (per post)

Craster 6.25 hours per week

Haltwhistle - to cover TIC & Library (2 posts) 18 hours per week (per post)

Length of contract: Immediate start, working until 1 November 2015

Hourly rate: £8.41

Active Northumberland are recruiting for the above positions for the 2015 summer season.

As a Tourism Information Assistant, you will assist in the promotion of tourist information services to residents and visitors in Northumberland and assist in the day to day operations of the Tourist Information Centre (TIC). Where the TIC is located within a library, the TIC staff will be expected to support the provision of the library service in addition to the tourism functions.

Duties will include dealing with telephone enquiries and visitors in a helpful and efficient manner, promotion and maintenance of merchandise and general administrative work to support the operation of the Centre.

You will have a good general education demonstrating literacy and numeracy, a qualification in tourism or a related discipline would be an advantage. You will also have relevant retail or other customer focused experience and experience of word processing, spreadsheets and database systems.

The above post(s) will include frequent weekend work and you should have a flexible approach to hours. You may be required to work in other locations throughout the county. Training will be provided.
