About the service
Warwickshire Domestic Abuse Service provides floating support to those experiencing or who have experienced domestic abuse. The service offers support to anyone in Warwickshire aged over 16.
About the role
As an IDVA, Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will support clients deemed to be at high risk and will work to support them through crisis and the courts and criminal justice system.
You will be working with a caseload of clients to deliver a range of support as identified and agreed in their support plans. You will be responsible for providing direction to Support Workers in the allocation of tasks and well as taking on the lead role for working with other agencies to meet the client’s needs. You will be expected to support clients with more complex or challenging support needs, manage and respond to risk appropriately and ensure compliance with our safeguarding policy.
You will be based at the Nuneaton office within Powell House however there will be travel to other locations within Warwickshire in order to perform the role. Due to the nature of this role a full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes is required.

Who we’re looking for
With excellent written and verbal communication skills you will be a clear and confident communicator with a proven ability to positively influence people at all levels.
Alongside a passion for helping vulnerable people make positive and lasting change, you will demonstrate a practical understanding of professional boundaries, safeguarding, risk assessment and confidentiality. Experience of working with people that have been affected by domestic abuse is not essential as training will be given, applicant must be enthusiastic and flexible and willing to carry out a variety of tasks.
You will need to have a good level of IT skills, as you will be required to ensure databases and computer records are accurately maintained.
