About the role

An opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker – Level 2 to join our team at Suffolk House and Oban House in Dover. Suffolk House is funded by Supporting People through Kent County Council to help people towards independent living. We provide support to those leaving prison, and can cater for those with higher risk ex offender needs, working with them to achieve permanent accommodation. Oban House supports single malesand females aged 18 to 65 yrs with low support needs who are working to eventually be able to manage their own tenancies when they move on from this service.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and dynamic teams and have direct involvement in providing quality person-centred support services to meet the needs of our clients. You will be working in a supported accommodation setting and will be responsible for a case load of clients.

You will be involved in supporting assessments, support planning goal setting and reviews for clients within the service, developing individual packages of support to enable each client to develop their independent living skills and reach their full potential, to enable them to move on to independent living. You will contribute towards helping clients to make positive changes in their lives on issues such as welfare benefits, budgeting, life skills, employment, education, training, move-on, general welfare, maintenance support and other appropriate tasks. 

As an excellent communicator, you will be client focussed, have good organisational and people skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to adapt to situations. You must be positive, motivated and enthusiastic with good time management skills. You will have excellent communication and IT skills, and be able to work well with colleagues from your own and other agencies, building effective working relationships and partnerships in order to effectively support our clients. 

You must be ableto work flexibly as the role works on a rota basis.

Please note that any offer of employment will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance, the costs of which will be met by the employer.
