So who is Home Group?

We are the UK’s largest provider of care and support services and also one of the UK’s top housing providers.  Many of our clients need more than a home and through our Stonham brand we work with almost 30,000 vulnerable people in over 500 supported housing, justice and health services each year.

One size doesn’t fit all, so our clients lead their support every step of the way and this is reflected in our client satisfaction rating of 95%, with 78% experiencing a positive move-on and tenancy sustainment of 75%.

About the role

The service is part of the Pathway for Adults (P4A) contract to reduce homelessness in Somerset East; this includes South Somerset and Mendip.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within an existing team to provide support to clients to enable them to move on to independence.

This is a challenging and demanding role that requires motivation and enthusiasm to support and engage with clients who are or have experienced issues around homelessness, mental health or substance misuse.

You will be working in a Direct Access Hostel for the homeless, based in Yeovil.

The service operates on a 24 hour basis 365 days per year. The 28 hour role is part of a rota that consists of early and late shifts including weekends and bank holidays.

Who we’re looking for

You should demonstrate relevant experience of working within a support or care environment and/or dealing with vulnerable people, have sound knowledge of issues facing clients and resources available in the community. You will possess excellent communication, organisation and administration skills as well as the commitment and ability to work under your own initiative.  With strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication, you will be a clear and confident communicator with a proven ability to positively influence people at all levels. If you have a genuine passion for working with vulnerable people to make positive and lasting change we would love to hear from you.

If you would like to discuss the position prior to submitting an application form please contact Nick Watkins on 07850209440.

Any offer of employment will be subject to a DBS disclosure, costs of which will be met by Home Group Ltd.
