About the role and who we are looking for
We are currently looking for a Support Worker Level 1 to join our existing team in Wymondham at Wilkinson House which is a 9 bed hostel providing support to men over 18 years old.
Reporting to the Client Service Manager, and the Support Coordinator, you will be part of our teamproviding practical day to day support and guidance to clients where required. This role will give you an ideal opportunity to work creatively to support clients with support plans in the evenings, and promote client involvement through activity-based support.
No qualifications are necessary however a knowledge of one of the following areas - supported housing, social care, criminal justice - and/or experince in a similar field is desirableas is an understanding of general housing duties in a residential setting. This role involves lone working so you will have a mature, responsible and reliable attitude and will be able to deal with situations in a clam and appropriate manner. You will be able to work well with colleagues from your own and other agencies, building effective working relationships and partnerships in order to support clients and help your team.
An excellent communicator, you must be client focused, have good organisational and people skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to adapt to situations. You have the ability to motivate, encourage and support our clients in developing daily living skills whilst showing empathy and strong understanding of appropriate boundaries.
This job role requires working a rota of 3 working nights on/6 nights off. The shift starts at 7.30pm to 12 midnight with a sleep in shift from midnight to 7.00am, with the shift ending at 8.30am.
