Director/Trustee/Governor Recruitment

Trusts and Schools across the Northeast and the rest of the UK are looking for voluntary school Trustees/Directors and Governors to join their Boards.

Your Responsibilities

Volunteers in educational governance roles are crucial in the leadership and oversight of our Trusts and schools.

The Board is responsible for three core functions:

  • Setting the school’s vision, ethos, and strategic direction.
  • Holding the senior leadership team accountable for the school’s educational performance and pupil outcomes.
  • Overseeing the school’s financial performance, ensuring that resources are used effectively and responsibly.

What Skills Do You Need

No qualifications are required, as training will be provided.

However, a commitment to understanding the educational context of the school and wider community and the capacity to attend meetings and engage in training and development.

We are looking for people with the following skills and experience:

• Critical listening and ability to ask effective questions
• Strategic thinking
• Excellent communication
• Problem-solving and analysis

This voluntary position is subject to satisfactory checks and clearances including an enhanced DBS check and applicants must be a minimum age of 18.
