Job Description

We are seeking a Volunteering Development Officer to work at a strategic level in developing our North of Tyne vison for volunteering.

The ambition of the North of Tyne Partnership (North Tyneside VODA, Connected Voice and Northumberland CVA) is to establish the North of Tyne as an “area of excellence” for supporting formal and informal volunteering.  We will work with a strong partnership of organisations committed to building on the community response we have seen during  the recent pandemic.

We are seeking someone who can look at volunteering strategically.  This role is not about managing volunteers, or supporting volunteers.  The successful applicant will have experience of working in partnership with external organisations, and will have a vision for volunteering development that encourages and promotes the value of volunteering to all sectors.

If you believe  you have the experience and skills to help 250 organisations feel more confident in the recruitment and co-ordination of volunteers through accessing a free programme of support, including face to face and on line training and advice;

If you believe you can support 2500 local resident to access volunteering opportunities across the North of Tyne area to increase their skills, confidence and sense of purpose;

If you can ensure that a programme of support will be accessed by 75 neighbourhood level groups in order to sustain and develop their essential work with local communities;

If you can help to expand the North Tyneside Sector Connector service across the whole North of Tyne area so that 100 private sector organisations can support their local communities by offering free access to skills, knowledge and other resources, then we want you to apply.

If you are a highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude and excellent communication and listening skills; if you can relate well to individuals both by telephone and face to face; if you have a passion for excellent customer service, are well organised with excellent attention to detail, then we want to hear from  you.
