COMMERCIAL LAWYER

The group owning Middlesbrough Football Club is looking to recruit a 2-3 years PQE solicitor to work predominantly for the club (and associated Foundation) with some further work for the 5-star Rockliffe Hall Resort and Spa. The position is office based at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough but will require regular attendance at the Training Ground and Rockliffe Hall.

THE ROLE:

The role will predominantly be assisting the commercial and operational teams in the drafting and negotiation of contracts including:

• Sponsorship and partnership agreements
• Agreements relating to the sharing of data and intellectual property
• Supply agreements
• Website agreements
• IT Contracts
• Policies and procedures
• Agreements required by Governing Bodies

About The Candidate

THE CANDIDATE:

The successful candidate will report direct to the group General Counsel and be part of a three person legal team. They will also benefit from support from a former employee and specialist data lawyer. It is essential that the successful candidate has excellent inter-personal skills, is commercially aware, pragmatic and is comfortable working in a team alongside non-lawyers.

There is ample opportunity for career progression and this would ideally suit a candidate who is interested in gaining experience and developing a knowledge of the football department and associated player related transactions.

The successful candidate must have 2 to 3 years experience as a PQE solicitor.
