Title: Quality Technician Night shift (Gateshead)

Working in a small team you will ensure that manufactured products meet Food Safety & Quality standards through carrying out carry out sampling, testing, measuring, recording and analysing in cooperation with the rest of the lab team.
Hours:40.25 hours per week (8.30pm - 7.30am)
Location:Felling, NE10 0JW
Offer is subject to a satisfactory drugs and alcohol test
Duties & Main Responsibilities
- Collect and prepare samples when required (for internal and external testing in order to meet customer needs)
- Preparation and testing of analytical samples including basic wet chemistry techniques in accordance with laboratory test procedures
- Calculation of laboratory test results
- Ensure all results are recorded in the ERP system and on controlled documentation
- Provide effective clearance of the laboratory testing results to agreed lead-times
- Ensure that weekly and monthly laboratory calibrations are carried out to specified standards.
- Conduct periodic audits as and when requested
- Ensure food safety is maintained at all times
- Supports a food safety excellence culture
Candidate requirements
- 5 GCSEs including English, Maths and Science
- Good numeracy and literacy; able to write clearly and accurately
- A good eye for detail, diligent in following procedures
- Good IT skills
