Through education, connection and wellbeing, we break down barriers, build confidence and help people reach their potential.THE ROLEThe Foundation of Light Future Pathways team are seeking a highly motivated Careers Coordinator to lead upon the implementation of engaging and relevant Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinating Activities, Logistics and People:- Organise FOL Careers Fairs for both new learners and current participants- Support learners with CV writing, personal statements, interview preparation and job search strategies- Support and facilitate progressions for learners and their families to Foundation of Light programmes and beyond- Coordinate work experience plans for both secondary and further education learners three times annually- Attend careers events promoting Foundation of Light and the services we provide- Deliver programmes to a good or better standard following the Ofsted Framework- Coordinate the tracking of learners to effectively evidence signposting and progressionSupporting Delivery of Services and Events:- Deliver engaging and relevant pre-course IAG to participants- Ensure all learners receive impartial IAG during and post course- Refer participants onto the most appropriate programme for their needs- Deliver IAG sessions and support programme tutors with enrolment paperwork- Signpost Beacon customers to other internal services- Develop relationships with participants, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for learning- Co-create clear and achievable action plans with each learner- Guide participants through challenging periods and help them change attitudes and behaviourLiaising with Stakeholders and Internal Teams:- Organise and attend meetings with key stakeholders to recruit learners, including DWP, housing, employers, local authority, voluntary and community organisations- Collaborate with Future Pathways staff to develop new programmes such as Sector-based Work Academies- Organise for local employers to attend sessions to offer insight, provide mock interviews and site visits- Build strong and lasting external business relationships with partners, donors and agencies- Collaborate with Training Providers to share progression pathways with learnersABOUT YOU- Must have or be willing to work towards a Level 4 in IAG- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills- Experience building effective working relationships with schools, employers and stakeholders- Passionate about education, careers guidance and learner development- Commitment to embedding EDI and safeguarding in all aspects of work- Willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of the serviceFoundation of Light is an Equal Opportunities Employer committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.For an informal discussion contact Sean Ward: sean.ward@foundationoflight.co.ukTo apply, complete an application form and email to: ryan.gill@foundationoflight.co.uk
