Alliance holds Investors in People status and the Better Health at Work Award.THE ROLEYou will work within the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) providing early intervention and low-intensity mental health support to children and young people in education settings across Stockton and Hartlepool. Working closely with schools, families and partner agencies, you will promote emotional wellbeing, deliver evidence-based interventions and support young people to access appropriate mental health support as part of a multi-disciplinary team.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESTherapeutic Practice:- Deliver outcome-focused, evidence-based interventions in educational settings to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties- Undertake and complete assessments including accurate assessment of risk to self and others- Support children, young people and their families in self-management of presenting difficulties- Work in partnership to develop treatment plans for specific interventions- Identify and accept appropriate referrals according to agreed treatment pathways and procedures- Deliver guided self-help and a range of evidence-based psychological interventions- Manage own caseload and attend multi-disciplinary and multi-agency meetings- Keep coherent clinical records and use outcome data to inform decision makingPartnership Working:- Create and maintain effective working relationships with Headteachers, SENCOs, Pastoral Teams and wider teaching staff- Liaise with local providers including statutory and voluntary sector organisations- Build effective working relationships with CAMHS and support development of support pathways- Contribute to a whole-school approach to mental healthSafeguarding:- Responsible for safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times- Take appropriate action to protect children and young people at risk of significant harm- Support families in accessing Early Help ServicesESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS- Successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1-year Education Mental Health Practitioner course- Experience working with children and families in an educational setting- Experience of delivering therapeutic interventions (e.g. CBT, Parent Led CBT, Parent Led Conduct Difficulties)- Experience working with anxiety and affective/mood disorders- Knowledge of safeguarding, educational environments and CAMHS pathways- Full clean driving licence and access to a car- Enhanced DBS disclosure- Member (or willing to become a member) of a registered professional body (e.g. BABCP, BPS)- Excellent oral and written communication skillsFor an informal chat about the post contact Amanda Lambe: CYPFamilies@alliancepsychology.com | 01642 352747
