We pride ourselves on being safe, inventive and creative, with the needs of the community and service users at the heart of everything we do.ABOUT THE ROLEWe are recruiting a Criminal Justice Engagement Worker to join our friendly, well-established Criminal Justice Team. You will support individuals experiencing problematic substance use and strengthen Criminal Justice pathways into treatment for those affected by opiate, non-opiate and alcohol use.Acting as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for a caseload involved in the Criminal Justice System, you will provide specialist, tailored support to help individuals make positive changes to their lives, working closely with external partners including Probation, Prisons and Courts.WHAT YOU WILL DO- Act as a key point of contact for Continuity of Care, processing referrals and completing associated documentation- Maintain and update the prison tracker daily to monitor releases, liaising with prisons and developing strong working relationships to ensure effective Continuity of Care pathways- Assertively support service users into treatment following release from prison, completing comprehensive assessments at Plummer Court or other locations including outreach to satellite offices- Complete weekly suitability assessments for Alcohol Treatment Requirements (ATR) and Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRR), preparing court reports and liaising with Prison and Court staff- Provide tailored guidance to reduce harmful behaviours and support continued engagement with the service- Support key service functions including drug screening, duty work, BBV testing and immunisation, prescription management, community needle exchange services, and delivery of alcohol and drug harm reduction interventionsESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or above, or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this qualification- Proficient in Microsoft Office- Ability to deliver evidence-based interventions including brief interventions, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Psychosocial Interventions (PSIs), CBT and ITEP- Experience of working with carers and familiesWHAT WE OFFER- 27 days annual leave, rising to 32 after 1 year (plus bank holidays)- Pension scheme with 4.5% employer contribution, matched up to 6.5%- Life assurance (3x annual salary)- Enhanced sick pay and family-friendly pay- Birthday leave and option to buy up to 5 extra days annual leave- 24/7 online GP access and Employee Assistance Programme- Cycle to Work scheme, Blue Light Card discounts and more- £500 Recommend a Friend bonusFor an informal discussion contact Rachael Bolton: rachael.bolton@cntw.nhs.ukWaythrough is proud to be an equal opportunities employer and has signed up to the Disability Confident Scheme.For adjustments or support to apply: recruitmentteam@waythrough.org.uk
