Children who through no fault of their own have experienced being let down again and again by adults in their life who were meant to keep them safe. An Independent Visitor (IV) changes that for young people in the care system. It’s a volunteer who makes a child/ young person in Teesside feel safe, listened to and cared for. It’s an adult role model who shows commitment and consistency in helping children thrive and real their full potential by befriending them. We’re looking for volunteers who are passionate about changing the lives of vulnerable children in their community. We need people who are kind, caring, supportive and above all committed to visit a young person twice a month for a minimum of 2 years.
