Job Description

We are offering this exciting opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our Refuse Management Team in this important role, engaged in maximising recycling and the early development stages of the Council’s new Garden Waste Scheme.

You will be responsible for promoting and developing the Garden Waste Scheme and recycling, including advising and assisting residents and customers across the District together with day to day administration, using administrative systems and monitoring of the Scheme. This will include customer invoicing and processing of related payments, operation and maintenance of both manual and computerised information systems and undertaking related research and data analysis.

You must have:

·     Proven ability to work directly with the public to influence, promote and develop new services or initiatives

·     Experience within a busy administrative office, including dealing with the public and also, ideally, relevant knowledge and/or experience of financial procedures and environmental services, particularly relating to recycling and recycling initiatives

·     Grade C or above GCSE in Maths and English at Levels 4-9, or relevant equivalent and RSA II word processing qualification or equivalent

·     Good ICT, communication and data analysis skills

·     An excellent approach to customer care

·     A flexible approach to working hours (as the post will involve some unsocial hours/evening/weekend work)

·     A full driving licence
