Job Description

Pay exceeds minimum apprenticeship rate and is applied on a sliding scale, depending on age and year of apprenticeship, of 55% to 85% of the position basic rate of £18,795 per annum (Subject to Job Evaluation).

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who wishes to take their first steps into a career within the field of Communications and Public Relations therefore, individuals who hold a PR qualification at level 4 or higher will not be eligible under the apprenticeship scheme.

Based in the Communications and Policy department at Queen’s Buildings in Worksop, you will assist with the delivery of the Council’s internal and external communications.

As part of these duties you will have the opportunity to work with the local media to promote the Council’s services and achievements, create engaging content for social media, administer the Council’s website and assist with our face-to-face engagement events.

You must:

  • Have a minimum of 3 GCSE’s at Levels 4-9/Grade C and above or predicted grades of 5-9, including English and Maths (or other relevant equivalent qualifications) 
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a creative and motivated self-starter who can work individually and as part of a team
  • Have experience of using a variety of Social Media Platforms
  • Have an understanding of and an enthusiasm for working in a communications and public relations environment
