Applications are invited for the position of Paedophile On-Line Investigation Team Investigator within the Crime & Justice Command based at Wynyard.

Applicants should be aware that this role involves the regular viewing of images containing children and other images of an extremely offensive and distressing nature.

The successful applicant must have proven investigation skills, experience of dealing with complex cases, experience in dealing with high volumes of work and demonstrate the ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Previous experience of dealing with difficult situations and conflict is essential as the post holder will be involved in the execution of search warrants and operations.

Excellent written and verbal communication is essential as the post holder will be required to present materials both verbally and in writing, demonstrating and adapting the style used to the target audience.

This role requires a highly motivated individual with the ability to conduct investigations into serious crimes and who will be involved in the preparation of complex prosecution files. It is essential that the successful candidates is able to make sound decisions based on professional judgment and is able to identify salient points from information and material. There will be a requirement to present evidence to CPS and at court in order to prosecute offenders through the criminal justice system.

Successful completion of the Initial Crime Investigators Development Programme (ICIDP) is a requirement within the first two years of posting. Failure to successfully complete the ICIDP will result in the termination of employment.

Further to the above, the successful candidate need to work towards becoming PIP Level 2 accredited following successful completion of the above.

All successful candidates will be required to attend a psychological assessment as part of the pre-employment checks.
