Based in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, Bassetlaw District Council’s Revenues department are looking for an experienced Business Rates Officer or an individual with valuation office experience to join a small team dealing with the collection of Business Rates and BID levies.

The successful candidate must possess:

·        Knowledge and experience of updating computerised records (amending liabilities and applying discounts and reliefs).

·        Experience of dealing with customer phone queries.

·        A ‘can do’ attitude and a flexible approach, together with a commitment to providing excellent customer care.

·        3 GCSE passes in Maths or English, or relevant equivalent.

·        Experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Additionally, the following whilst not essential would be an advantage:

·        Knowledge of the Northgate operating system

·        Knowledge of the Business Improvement District (BID) levy

This position is subject to a review and has a possibility of becoming a permanent post.
