North Yorkshire County Council forms a vital part of community life in England’s largest county.
Over half a million people live in the 3200 square miles of North Yorkshire, and the County Council provides them with essential services including education for life, community care for people of all ages, communications links and public protection all year round.
There are seven districts operating within the county - Craven, Scarborough, Ryedale, Hambleton, Richmondshire, Selby and Harrogate who run other local services including housing, leisure and refuse collection. The county also consists of around 700 parishes.
Our aim is to work with and support the people of North Yorkshire to fulfil our mission to be a ‘responsive and caring County Council providing good quality and efficient services’.
