Fostering as a career

More people every year are looking to improve the quality of their working lives or are being forced to start a new career which means they can consider doing something they are more interested in. Fostering is being considered as a job which provides a reasonable income and which enables people to become self employed and to work from home.

Although many foster carers choose to look after children from time to time, such as respite or short term foster carers, there is a national shortage of foster carers who can be available full time and the more available foster carers are, the more fostering placements will be offered.

A fostering career can be short term or life long. Foster carers, choose the service they want to provide which suits their family circumstances and the income they are looking to receive.

There are also Independent Fostering Agencies as well as the Local Authorities. We carry a number of both Local Authorities and Private agencies on this site who are always keen to talk to new/potential carers.

Have you considered fostering as a solution to your wish to care for children. Find out about how to apply to become a foster carer, the fostering payments, allowances and the different types of fostering to choose from, contacting your local authority is a great starting point to find out more. Search fostering for the current opportunities being displayed on this site.

Fostering is becoming more and more popular as a career choice that sector1.net intends to develop and entire category to join more potential carers and children in the future and support this worthwhile and rewarding career choice. Watch this space!
