Job description
Centrepoint is the UK's leading charity for homeless young people. It provides housing and support for a thousand 16-25 year olds every year, helping them into work and a home of their own. It also gives homeless young people a voice through the Centrepoint Parliament. Centrepoint works directly in London and the North East of England, and collaborates with other organisations across the UK. It conducts research and influences government policy with the overall aim of ending youth homelessness.
The Funding Team is responsible for generating approximately £3m per annum from businesses and their employees, trusts and foundations, wealthy individuals and fundraising events. Income generated by the Funding Team enables Centrepoint to provide non-statutory support services including the organisation's in-house Learning and Health Teams and the Centrepoint Parliament.
As a Fundraising Officer (North East) within this team, reporting to the Head of Corporate Development, your role will manage the day-to-day fundraising activity in the North East of England. This is an ideal job for a candidate seeking employment within the Third Sector who wants to use their passion for persuasion and social justice to transform the lives of homeless young people in the region.
The ideal candidate will be:
- hardworking
- gregarious
- thorough (an eye for detail)
- a persuasive written and oral communicator
- numerate
- adaptable
In return for your efforts, you will receive a competitive salary, excellent training and development and a host of staff benefits such as interest free travel loan, stakeholder pension scheme entitlement etc...
We seek to challenge discrimination and are committed to fairness and equality. We especially welcome applications from anyone with direct experience of being homeless or using young people's services.
