Job description

Dementia Care (DC) is a leading NE based charity providing quality care and support to people with dementia, other degenerative neurological disorders and acquired brain injury for over 20 years. We offer up to 24 hour home support, independent living houses and day services.

To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you are:


Person centred – have a genuine interest in caring for and working with people with dementia;
Willing to put the needs of the client first and be adaptable – including working early morning, evening and weekend shifts on a rota basis;
A good communicator – who can understand the needs of people with complex behavioural needs and use your skills and experience to support people to remain independent, enjoy life and have positive experiences;
Keen to build on your good understanding of caring for people to become a specialist in dementia.


Support Workers: expected earnings £15,000-£18,000 pro rata – zero / 30 / 40 hour contracts - NVQ2 minimum. You must have worked at least one year in personal care for people who are elderly, have behavioural problems or who are physically demanding.
