East Durham College is rightly renowned as one of the leading FE colleges in North East England. The College continues to go from strength to strength; with retention, attendance and success rates all significantly improving over the last year.
The College has three unique campuses. The Peterlee Campus is a stunning £36m new build that opened in January 2009. The Houghall Campus, on the outskirts of Durham City, is the leading provider of land based courses in the region and includes a beautiful 450 acre estate. The Technical Academy is a 30,000 sq. ft. purpose-build facility providing training in a range of in-demand construction trades.
Due to the current Principal returning to his much loved previous college, East Durham College seeks a new Principal/Chief Executive who will continue the drive for excellence in every aspect of College life.
The successful candidate will ensure that the College fulfils its obligation to its students and to the community. A Masters Degree and/or a teaching qualification, together with a good record of continuous professional development, with a proven track record of senior level strategic leadership and management experience in a similarly large and complex educational setting is essential.
