Principal Teachers currently has a vacancy for a Teacher of French to begin a long term post in a secondary school in the Ripon area. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and experienced in the delivery of French to KS4 level (GCSE) and the ability to teach another language would be highly desirable. The Head Teacher has approached Principal Teachers to assist in the school's search for an inspiring and motivated MFL Teacher, to inspire a love of learning languages in all students and tailor the curriculum to meet the needs of diverse classes. The position is available to start in February or as soon as possible and the school are willing to negotiate the timetable to offer a full time or part time role for the right candidate. You will need to show a commitment to the role and flexibility to continue in the role on an on going basis.


This thriving secondary school is based in an area close to Ripon and is very well regarded within the local community. The Head Teacher is seeking a professional, who can provide the students with exceptional learning experiences in MFL to motivate students to reach their full potential. You will need to be able to plan and assess meticulously to cater to the needs of students with varying levels of ability and drive results forward. Behaviour across the school is good and you will be expected to consistently enforce the school's behaviour management policy to ensure standards are upheld.


The successful applicant will have:


Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK



  • Strong behaviour and classroom management skills

  • Previous experience of teaching in the UK

  • Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum requirements for MFL (French)

  • Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare

  • The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds

  • Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard

  • A commitment to improving attainment for all students

  • A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
