 What will you do?

The successful candidate will be joining our Central Operations team and will become the Subject Matter Expert for the management of SQL databases.

To be a success in this role you will have:

  • Experience in designing, configuring and administering SQL Servers running in a virtualised environment.
  • Experience of working towards ITIL principles.
  • Experience with IT service continuity.
  • Exposure to Cloud Computing.
  • Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
  • Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts.
  • Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations.

You’ll use the above to:

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of strategic technical projects ensuring full and proper handover.
  • Problem management and Incident resolution.
  • Be responsible for infrastructure support, ensuring highly robust and maintainable :
    • SQL database management systems
    • SQL backup and recovery procedures
  • Keep abreast of industry developments in the technical arena and make recommendations where appropriate .
  • Champion tombola standards and ensure all internal policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • Actively mentor colleagues .
  • Any other tasks as requested by Operations management.
