Principal Teachers currently has a vacancy for a Teacher of Maths to commence a long term post in a secondary school in the Northallerton area. The Head Teacher is seeking to appoint a full time Teacher of Maths to deliver an inspiring curriculum to students in KS3 and KS4. As a team member of a thriving Maths Department, you will be required to plan and deliver a stimulating curriculum that will engage, motivate, challenge and support students with diverse needs and abilities. Furthermore, you will need to demonstrate meticulous assessment skills to provide a personalised curriculum that will drive GCSE results forward and identify next steps for progression. The role is available from February 2018 on an on going basis.

This successful secondary school is based in a thriving area close to Northallerton. It is well resourced and has an extremely successful and experienced Maths Department. You will be welcomed into a team where you will be fully supported and can work collaboratively to share best practice. The successful applicant will need to show a genuine passion for the subject and create engaging learning opportunities that will instil a love of learning Maths in all students of varying abilities.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK

  • Strong behaviour and classroom management skills

  • Previous experience of teaching in the UK

  • Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum requirements for Mathematics

  • Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare

  • The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds

  • Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard

  • A commitment to improving attainment for all students

  • A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
