THE ROLE: An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen as Team Fostering is looking to recruit Foster Carers across the North East. This would be the ideal opportunity for someone who has previously worked, or currently works with, children and young people but feels that they want to do more. It would also suit a parent whose children are older or have recently left home.
As a foster carer you will provide 1-1 care and support to children and young people ranging from 0-18 years, although this will generally be for older children.
This is a challenging position but very rewarding so would require applicants to have a strong desire to care for a child or young person and make a difference to their life.
THE CANDIDATE: There is no image of the perfect foster carer/family so we would love to hear from people from all walks of life, regardless of age, race, gender or sexual orientation.
Previous experience working with children/vulnerable adults would be an advantage as would previous parenting experience, however this is not essential.
To be a foster carer with Team Fostering you are
- Over 21 years of age.
- Have a spare bedroom in your home.
- Not employed with anyone else once approved as a foster carer.
- Able to drive and have access to a car.
- Not currently providing care for any children in your home under the age of 8.
