Sunderland Symphony Orchestra is a successful and forward thinking community Orchestra which is becoming a key player in the cultural scene of the City. With the support of Arts Council England, we are about to commence a new phase of growth and wish to appoint a Development Manager to drive forward our development and realise our ambitions.

The candidate we are seeking will ideally have experience in the field of community arts development, with a proven track record in building the arts appeal and audience demography. Experience of writing successful grant applications is essential together with the ability to deliver a budgeted development plan, working effectively and in partnership with our Orchestra committee. You will also develop a more resilient marketing strategy for the Orchestra and lead digital initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity to engage with a group of dedicated intergenerational music makers who bring orchestral music to the City of Sunderland. We are looking for someone with a passion for the performing arts, someone with a strong vision of how the Orchestra can achieve and surpass its potential and enhance our community engagement and recognition.
