About the job

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Catering Assistant within our accommodation services based in York. This project supports vulnerably-housed people both in a hostel and a community setting.

You will work as part of our catering team to provide a high quality catering service to residents at our Union Terrace hostel. You will have awareness of Health & Safety protocols and requirements, in addition to awareness and compliance with Food Hygiene standards.

You will support the Senior Chef in preparation of food in accordance with the set menu, ensuring a high standard is delivered with minimal wastage in order to promote a cost-effective service. You will have awareness of professional boundaries and the importance of confidentiality in relation to the multiple-complex needs our client group faces.

An NVQ or other equivalent qualification in Food Safety & Hygiene is desirable but not essential.
